After graduating from TCOM in 1983 and finishing postdoctoral training, I went into private practice for 22 years, specializing in OMT. I was blessed with success over the years, but increasingly had to deal with justifying my billing for the OMT I provided my patients.
Now, I’ve returned to the TCOM campus to work in the national Osteopathic Research Center. Every day I am directly involved in an aggressive effort to develop the long-needed evidence base for OMT, which is what the government and third-party payers want to see.
The Osteopathic Research Center has produced very promising results, and more is in the pipeline. However, the potential of having state-of-the-art motion and biomechanics equipment and laboratory space for OMT research – as envisioned at our new Physical Medicine Institute– is a quantum leap forward for the cause of osteopathy and osteopathic medical practice.
I have put my professional life on the line for this research effort. I urge you to join me in turning this great vision into reality by making a truly significant financial donation to the cause.
With your help, plus the support we already have from the osteopathic medical profession and TCOM, our new Physical Medicine Institute will become a beacon of accomplishment and fulfillment of the osteopathic vision for health care.
Fraternally,
