ADMISSIONS

CAMSTRR welcomes any current second year medical student in the class of 2012 at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine (TCOM) interested in pursuing an academic CAM research career. The CAMSTRR program is highly specialized and seeks focused and committed students of good academic standing. A maximum of 10 students will be selected. 

+ application requirements

The following materials are required to complete an application.

1. A fully-completed application. (Adobe Acrobat required)
2. Official transcripts.
3. Essays.
4. Interview.
5. U.S. citizenship or a national non-citizenship or foreign national citizenship with a permanent residence visa.
6. Past research experience is encouraged, although not mandatory.
7. Commitment to the eight-week duration of the program without interruption during medical school years three and four.
 

+ dates & deadlines

All applications and supporting materials must be submitted by December 18th, 2009 . Interviews will be then be offered and conducted based on the applicant's eligibility. Decisions of acceptance will be made on January 8th, 2010.
 

+ funding

Students will receive a standard pre-doctoral fellowship from the NIH of $1731/month for two months. In addition, students will receive two month's worth tuition reimbursement and a small research expense-related stipend.
