First-ever SPH Career Panel Convenes
 On April 22, a diverse panel of experts gathered on campus
to talk to some 40 current students about how to break into,
and succeed in, their public health careers. This first-ever
event was coordinated by Jenny Cureton, the school’s
coordinator of student services.
Serving on the 2004 panel of experts were: Witold Migala,
PhD, MPH, epidemiology manager and director of the bioterrorism
preparedness team of the City of Fort Worth Public Health Department;
Jerry Roberson, MA, a UNTHSC DrPH student and program coordinator
for the Health Start Initiative of Catholic Charities; Suzanne
St. Clair, MPH, a systems engineer and risk analyst with Lockheed
Martin; Elizabeth Trevino, MPH, a UNTHSC DrPH student and coordinator
for the School of Public Health’s Public Health Training
Center; Kim Fulda, MPH, a UNTHSC DrPH student, president of
the Public Health Student Association and program project coordinator
in the Office of Professional and Continuing Education; and
John Podgore, DO, MPH, a UNTHSC faculty member and specialist
in pediatrics and infectious diseases.
