Kathryn M. Cardarelli, M.P.H., Ph.D., will
be the first SPH graduate to join our faculty in the Department
of Epidemiology. She will begin her position as an assistant
professor of epidemiology on Monday, July 19, 2004 . Dr. Cardarelli
currently serves as president of the SPH Alumni Association.

Roberto Cardarelli , D.O., M.P.H., is in his last year as the Chief Resident for the Department of Family Medicine at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston . Dr. Cardarelli will complete a fellowship this June in Faculty Development, and then join HSC as an assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine in July. His primary interests are chronic disease management and evidence-based medicine and clinical research. (May 2004)
Robert Carter III , Ph.D., M.P.H., GSBS 2001 and SPH 2003, was honored with the Minority Access Alumnus Role Model Award at the Fourth Annual Role Models Award at the Fourth Annual role Models Awards Banquet in Washington , D.C. , in September 2003. The role model award is given to a graduate who has made significant contributions in biomedical research and is a positive role model to minority students. Minority Access works with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to present the National Role Models Conference, which includes the awards banquet. (April 2004)
Aleshia Hall-Campbell joined the University of University of Tennessee Center for Health Services Research as coordinator for the Tennessee Consortium for Public Health Workforce Training. (January 2004)
