The department of Biomedical Communications provides support services to all areas of the Health Science Center upholding its mission to improve the health and quality of life for the people of Texas and beyond through excellence in education, research, clinical care and community engagement, and to provide national leadership in primary care.
Six divisions, offering services ranging from copier leasing and support to graphic design and printing, photography, electronic repair, video conferencing and more, are available to our faculty, staff and students.

| Administrative ServicesIn addition to providing administrative tasks for the department, we coordinate copier rentals for the institution. We’ll help you to find the right copier available on state contract for your department. We also provide copier supplies and paper when you need it and will have copier problems attended to as quickly as possible. Paper beyond your copier allotment will be charged to your department. |
Electronic and Instrumentation Repair:We maintain and repair equipment and instruments used in research labs and clinics, as well as design and fabricate equipment to facilitate research. We also provide advanced technical support for classroom education and campus security including maintaining the audio/video distribution network, monitors, projectors, cameras, and satellite equipment. |
| Graphic Arts:Professional quality graphic design and art production is available on campus ranging from letterhead and business cards to logo design, brochures, large format posters and publications. Scanning, mounting and lamination are also among the services we offer. We’ll work with you to determine a cost-effective way to produce a beautiful and effective print project. |
Media Services:The Media Services division provides interactive videoconferences, webconferences, and streaming video services. Video recording for on campus and off campus productions is available as well as video editing for production of CDs, DVDs, and web content. CD and DVD duplication services are also available. Training and support for institutional online courses through Blackboard is available. We are also responsible for coordination and production of institutional ID badges |
Photography:Whatever your photographic needs, our Photography division can shoot it. From your initial ID photo to chronicling events such as commencement, poster sessions, receptions and more, we can provide digital photos and prints. Passport photos are also available. When you need photography, call us first. |
Print Services:Commercial quality printing and duplicating services are just a work request away. Forms, tests, letterhead, business cards and envelopes are just a few of the items we can produce for you. With our new Xanté digital press, we can produce beautiful full color fliers, brochures, postcards and more at a competitive price. Many of the jobs produced by Graphic Arts can be printed right here on campus. |
