CETS - What are they and how do I contact them?
Classroom Educational Technology Support (CETS) is a division of
the Department of Biomedical Communications. They reserve and schedule
the use of equipment on and off campus and are responsible for providing
the technical support for classes, conferences, meetings, and other
areas of the institution that require audiovisual support. If you
are in need of equipment for your class or meeting you can contact
CETS at ext. 2481.
Q. Hours of operation?
Normal business hours are 7:00 am to 10 pm Monday through Friday.
There is usually someone available throughout the day to accept
your work order or answer any questions you may have.
Q. Equipment request forms - how do I obtain one?
The equipment request form can be found online in our forms area.
Q. Cost - How much is this going to cost me?
Currently there is no charge for use of equipment by faculty, students
and staff of UNTHSC. There is a nominal charge is an operator is
required for off-campus support.
Q. Why am I being charged for this service?
CETS operates off of a service account. By mandate
from the Administration all service accounts must operate on a zero-plus
balance. This means we have to charge our clients a fee which will
allow us to recover our expenses.
Q. What can CETS do for me?
CETS offers use of overhead projectors, opaque projectors, 35mm
slide projectors, 16mm film projectors, video projectors, data projectors,
sound systems, heart sound system, audio recording systems, flip
charts, easels, video monitors, video tape players also desktop
and laptop computers for presentations. They also offer assistance
in setting up equipment and training in use of the equipment.
