Demolition of OMCT building

October 2007 – Hazardous material abatement and removal

January 2008 – Internal demolition

February 2008 – The Health Science Center bids farewell to the OMCT with a community event to mark the beginning of external demolition.

May 2008 – Crews demolish the center tower of the OMCT building – including the emergency room, surgical and medical suites, and the helipad on the roof.

August 2008 – Demolition complete

Construction of Medical Education & Training Building

October 2008 – Construction crews arrive at the site and begin excavation

November 2008 – Support pier drilling

February 2009 - Foundation

April 2009 - Structural steel construction begins

June 2009 - Structural steel complete

August 2009 - External wall construction

January 2010 - External glass and windows installed

April 2010 - Cement for new street and sidewalks poured

May 2010 - New landscaping planted

May 20, 2010 - External construction complete, Medical Education & Training Building opened for classes and special events
