Education is a primary strength of the Department of Cell Biology and Anatomy.  Our rapidly growing research group provides an atmosphere of strong mentorship for the graduate programs of the department as well as providing excellent training for the students of Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Physicians Assistant Studies Program.

Medical Education:

Gross Anatomy - including a computerized laboratory, providing students with programming developed in our department.

Strong participation in multiple phases of Integrated Medical Curriculum with particular strengths in endocrine systems and neurobiology.

Graduate Education:

Science Education (MS) - developed to help enhance science education at the middle and high school levels by providing secondary educators with a better understanding of the current scientific environment and advanced techniques for use in classroom teaching.

Cell Biology and Anatomy (MS/PhD) - Students in this program are exposed to the wide range of cell biology interests of the faculty ranging from basic research on the eye to the applied science of the forensic genetics. Teaching is emphasized, especially for gross and neuro- anatomy, giving students the opportunity to develop a wide range of marketable skills.
