                               Current Scholarship/Stipend Opportunities

Motyka Dannin Foundation

Forgivable loans are available to 1st and 2nd year medical students who are residents of Indiana and plan to return to the state to practice.  Applicant must have financial need, good moral character, and be available for an interview, if requested, by the Motyka Dannin Foundation.  To get an application, call 800-942-0501.  Application deadline is December 31, 2009.

The Society of Emergency Medicine Physician Assistants (SEMPA) - NEW!

(1) $1,000 and four $500 scholarships will be awarded to a second year PA student.  Submit a completed application to SEMPA by January 15, 2010.

American Academy of Physician Assistants Scholarship - NEW!

The PA Foundation is making available several scholarships to students who are attending an accredited PA Program and will be enrolled in the professional phase of their program.  Applicants must be members of the AAPA.  Application deadline for the 2009-2010 academic year is January 15, 2010

MENSA Education and Research Foundation Scholarship - NEW!

The Mensa Foundation's scholarship program is accepting applications.  The US program is open to any college-bound student living in the geographic area of a participating Mensa group.  The international program is open to Mensans from other countries and their dependents.  Deadline is January 15, 2010.

The Dallas Woman's Club Foundation Scholarship - NEW!

The Dallas Woman's Club, along with the Dallas Woman's Club Foundation, gives $1,500 - $3,000 scholarships to men and women from the Dallas/Ft. Worth area who have financial need.  Students who will be enrolled for the 2010-2011 academic year are elible to apply.  Submit a complete application packet directly to the donor by January 29, 2010.

Create-A-Holiday-Card Scholarship Contest

This contest is open to all US residents in a degree-granting program.  Contest winner will receive $10,000 scholarship.  Application deadline is January 2010.

2010 Joan F. Giambalvo Memorial Scholarship

A $10,000 research scholarship will be awarded to a medical student, health professional or graduate student to study the issues generated by and affecting women in medicine.  This program seeks to advance the progress of women in the medical profession, and to strengthen the ability to identify and address the needs and interests of women physicians and medical students.  Application deadline is February 15, 2010.

2010-2011 Pisacano Scholars Leadership Program

$28,000 scholarship available to students who are entering their fourth year of medical school in Fall 2010.  Students need to have a commitment to family medicine. Application deadline is March 1, 2010.

Northwest Osteopathic Medical Foundation - NEW!

This foundation offers financial scholarship assistance to 2nd, 3rd and 4th year medical students who intend on practicing in the Northwest area.  Consideration give to student who are from Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington.  Deadline is April 15, 2010.

Health Resources and Services Administration Loan Repayment Program

HRSA is now accepting applications for physicians and physican assistants who want to work at the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) sites.  Program will award up to $50,000 to repay bonafide educational debt. 

MedicalVibe Educational Scholarship Fund

MedicalVibe is a social network for health professionals.  They are offering $1,000 scholarships to a student in any healthcare related field for tuition, books or living expenses.  Eligibility will be based a student's educational history, academic achievement and professional successes.  Need to setup an account and then you will be able to complete the scholarship application.
