
All new students must report to orientation with their immigration documents
- Less than full-time: If you going to be enrolled less than full-time, you MUST have permission from International Advising before you enroll or drop to less than 12 credits as an undergraduate or 9 credits as 2nd bachelor’s or graduate.
- Off campus work: You must have permission before you begin to work.
- Curricular Practical Training (CPT) – allow at least 2 weeks for permission.
- Optional Practical Training (OPT) – allow 4 months
- Extension of I-20: apply at least 30 days before the I-20 expires.
- Travel endorsement: If yours has expired, apply at least 2 weeks before traveling.
- Change of level (degree level): You must report to International Advising within 15 days of beginning a new degree level program.
- Change of major: Apply to International Advising for a new I-20.
- Prior to transfer to a new school: Notify International Advising.
- Prior to ending studies at UNT for any reason, you must notify International Advising.
- Prior to concurrent enrollment at another school: you must notify International Advising and obtain a letter for the other school.
- Change of address: You must notify International Advising, the Registrar’s Office, and Immigration within 10 days.
