Career Opportunities in Health Management and Policy
Health Management
Health management is one of the fastest growing
occupations in the United States. Jobs are being created in
hospitals, HMOs, physician groups, consulting firms, long term care
organizations, benefits departments of large organizations, and in
government agencies. Many of these jobs are for generalists with a
broad understanding of the health sector but with some training in
management. Others are for more specific functions within
organizations such as finance, purchasing, human resource
management, information systems and marketing. The MPH in Health
Management and Policy from the University of North Texas Health
Science Center provides the education necessary to qualify for many
of these jobs.
Health Policy
Health policy is of great importance to Americans as technology
fuels growth in health spending. Difficult decisions must be made
and many of these will be made in the public sector. The MPH and
the DrPh in Health Management and Policy provide solid foundations
for students interested in careers in the public and not-for-profit
sectors helping executive, legislators, advisory organization and
agencies address a wide range of significant policy issues.
