Members of the department of Cell Biology and Genetics engage in a variety
of research projects ranging from vision research about the basic cellular
mechanisms underlying cataract development, apoptosis (cell death), cell
differentiation, gene expression
and peptide secretions to basic educational research. Research is conducted
in a highly interactive and collegial environment. The department has outstanding
pofessional staff that provide high quality histology / microscopy support
for both members of Cell Biology and Genetics faculty and other faculty
as well.
Graduate student research is an integral part of our program, providing
an opportunity for students to not only perform basic research, but to
perform educational research.
