Project Status Report

Current Projects

Public Health Education Building (UNT System)

Project to be completed for Fall 2009 classes. Austin Commercial has been selected as the Construction Manager at Risk. Kleinfelder to complete the Geotechnical/Material Testing Services. Carter-Burgess and Campos Engineering to complete the Commissioning/Test and Balance Services. DH Griffin started demolition of OMCT the week of January 7, 2008.

Building B (UNT System)

The scope of work includes completing the programming for a future Recreation and Wellness Center for students, faculty and staff. Two RFQ responses were received on 1/9/08.

CBH Level 2 & 4

The scope of work includes finishing out the remaining second floor and a partial finish out of the south half of the fourth floor shelled space as labs. Board of Regents approved the project on 6/29/07. The THECB approved the project on 7/30/07. The project started in August 2007 with completion scheduled for February 2008.

CBH Level 4

The scope of work includes finishing out the remaining shelled space on level 4. Project currently being reviewed by the UNT System Facilities Office. The goal is for this project to be presented to the Board of Regents in February 2008.

CBH Level 6

The scope of work includes a BSL-3 quadrant of labs on level 6. Planning and programming has begun.

Energy Performance Contract

The scope of work includes completing a detailed utility audit and recommendations for an energy conservation project that could be paid for with guaranteed utility savings. RFQ responses were due 4/9/07, Evaluation meeting was 5/3/07. Presentations with the vendors were on May 22, 2007. The project is re-posted with a RFQ due date of 8/17/07. Two additional proposals were received and evaluated. Project briefing presented to the Board of Regents on 11/15/07. Vendor recommendation and approval request to be presented to the Board of Regents in May 2008. Sample audits being requested from the top two vendors for review.

Natural Gas

The scope of work includes procuring a new contract for procuring natural gas to reduce overall associated purchased utilities expenses. Energy procurement services to be awarded to THG Solutions. Natural gas supply RFP to be completed and posted. Goal for new contract start date is March 1, 2008.

RES ADA Restroom Upgrades

The scope of work includes upgrades and modifications to the public restrooms (except 1T3 & 1T4) to comply with ADA requirements. RJM started the project 10/11/07 and should complete it by January 7, 2008. Punch list currently being completed. Restrooms are now open

3601 W. 7th Street

The scope of work includes renovations to accommodate Accounting. Woodrose started construction 10/8/07 and should be complete 12/17/07. Move should be scheduled for mid February.

UNT Health - May Street

The scope of work includes office and cubicle renovations requested by Stephen Robertson. Plans and estimates being completed. Metroplex Handling has completed Phase I. Phase II estimate provided to Stephen Robertson January 14, 2008.

UNT Health Signs

The scope of work includes new exterior signs for PCC, May St., Seminary Clinic, Eagle Ranch, and Westside Clinic. Terry Morgan and Randy Sachs are working with Purchasing and the vendor regarding the delay in the sign installation.

EAD Labs 656, 658, 660

The scope of work includes renovating three labs to accommodate incoming new faculty member. Phase I to be completed by 1/11/08 and Phase II to be completed by 2/8/08

EAD Level 8

The scope of work includes renovations to accommodate growth in Advancement and Marketing as well as improving space efficiencies. Plans and estimates being completed.

EAD 340 & 342

The scope of work includes minor renovations to accommodate moves within Pathology and Human Identification's existing space.

EAD Level 3

The scope of the project includes carpet, ceiling restoration and paint for Pathology and Human Identification on the west corridor. Work being completed in phases, final phase to be started in February.

Gross Anatomy Lab

The scope of work includes expanding the existing Gross Anatomy Lab to accommodate larger class enrollments. Plan and estimate currently being completed. Per Dr. Wordinger, renovation cannot start prior to 5/1/08 and expanded space is needed by 9/1/08. Estimate of $100K is base renovation only (not included: HVAC improvements, Cooler, Equipment, Tanks)
