HATE CRIMES
WHAT THEY ARE AND WHEN THEY MUST BE REPORTED

 

HATE CRIMES:           

            Criminal offenses which are committed against a person, which are motivated, in whole or in part, by the  offender's bias based on race, religion, ethnic/national origin group, or sexual orientation group.

 

MURDER, FORCIBLE RAPE and AGGRAVATED ASSAULT:

             Criminal offenses for which crime statistics must be reported and duly noted if they manifest evidence of prejudice and are classified as hate crimes.

 

BODILY INJURY:

              Crime statistics concerning hate crimes must be reported when the offense involves bodily injury to a person who is a victim because of his/her race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, ethnicity or disability.
