Information for Graduates
Diploma
- TCOM and PA graduates - Diploma Name Forms will be sent via e-mail on
January 30, 2009. The form must be returned by 5:00 p.m. on February 13, 2009.
- GSBS and SPH graduates will have their Diploma Name Forms submitted to the Office of the Registrar
by their program directors.
- Diplomas will be distributed after the ceremony in Exhibit Hall E and F. If you are not attending the
ceremony, your diploma will be mailed to your mailing address within two to three weeks of
commencement.
Obtaining a Photo Copy of Your Diploma
- If you need a photo copy of your diploma, please contact the Office of the Registrar at least two weeks
prior to commencement.
Diploma Frames
- Diploma frames will be offered for sale by Framing Success in the Ballroom immediately following
Commencement. Prices vary by size and style. Diploma frames may also be ordered online at
Alumni Polos
- Alumni polo shirts for all degree programs will be available for sale in the Ballroom immediately
following Commencement. The cost is $24.00.
Commencement Announcements
- The Deparment of Biomedical Communications will send the Commencement Announcement Order Form
via e-mail on March 1, 2009.
Cap and Gown Rental
- Students must wear full academic regalia in order to participate in the commencement ceremony. Cap,
gown and hood order forms will be sent via e-mail on February 16, 2009. Forms must be returned by
March 3, 2009. Instructions on where and when to pick up your cap, gown, and hood will be announced
at a later date.
Purchasing your Cap, Gown, and Hood
- If you are interested in purchasing your gown or hood after the ceremony, a representative from Willsie Cap
and Gown will be available in Exhibit Hall E and F.
Family Members as Hooders (TCOM D.O. Students Only)
- Family members hooding at commencement will only be permitted for D.O. graduates. Hooders will be
restricted to an individual parent who holds a D.O. or M.D. degree. Hooders are required to wear
commencement regalia.
Robing/Lining-up/Processional
- All graduates are required to be at the Fort Worth Convention Center (Exhibit Hall E and F) by 2:00 p.m.
Instructions regarding robing and the processional will begin at 2:00 p.m. The processional will begin at
2:45 p.m. The commencement ceremony will begin at 3:00 p.m. and will last approximately 2 1/2 hours.
Parking
- The Fort Worth Convention Center Parking Garage is located at 1301 Commerce Street. Parking in the
garage is $7.00.
Handicapped Accessibility
- The Fort Worth Convention Center has handicapped accessible parking and seating. Seating in the
handicapped areas is limited to the handicapped individual plus two family members. Upon entering the
facility, contact an usher for directions to the handicapped accessible seating.
Photography
- Only graduates and event participants will be allowed on the floor of the arena. Audience members who
wish to take photographs must do so from their seats.

Commissioning Ceremony
- Air Force, Army, Navy; Joint Commissioning Ceremony will take place on stage immediately following the
commencement ceremony. Participants in the Commissioning Ceremony should wear their uniform to
commencement.
Tickets
- Commencement tickets are not needed. The Fort Worth Convention Center Arena has ample open seating.
Hotels
- There are many fine hotels in the Fort Worth, Texas area. We urge you to make your hotel reservations
early, as there may be other events in the city that weekend. (www.OfficialDowntownHotels.com)
