Welcome to the website for the Department of Surgery at the University of North Texas Health Science Center.  Our department is a multi-discipline academic unit committed to providing excellence in osteopathic surgical care through an emphasis on education, research, quality management, access and cost-effectiveness in a changing medical environment.  Department faculty members pursue many research interests, including critical care, endocrine surgery, inflammatory effects of cardiopulmonary bypass, cardiac metabolism and post cardiac surgery adhesions, laparoscopic surgery, swallowing disorders, airway obstructive diseases, and clinical outcomes studies.  Faculty are involved in multiple areas on local, national, and international levels.
