Since the Department of Surgery
opened in 1964, we have been dedicated to serving the health
care needs of the thousands of patients each year. We are
proud of our tradition and are committed to continuing service
to the residents of North Texas and beyond. Our surgeons and

1. How many patients
do we treat in a year?
We currently see approximately 1200 patients per month.
2. Where do most
of our patients come from?
The majority of our patient population is from the Dallas-Fort
Worth Metroplex area. Some of our patients come from other
areas of Texas as well as outside the state.
3. Where do our
surgeons perform most of their surgeries?
Our surgeons are on staff at most of the hospitals in the Fort Worth area.

The Department of Surgery is located in the Patient care
building located at 855 Montgomery on the 5th floor.
2. Parking and
transportation services
- Parking is adjacent to the Patient Care Center (Parking
Lot - A)
3. Registration
- Where do I register?
Patients who are new to the clinic should register in our
Central Registration area, located on the first floor of
the Patient Care Center. If our staff has mailed a packet
of information to you prior to your appointment, please
complete the forms and bring them with you. If you need
information or assistance finding Central Registration,
check with the Information Desk in the Main Lobby. The Information
Desk can also direct you to our floor if you need help.
- Check in
When you arrive at the reception area of your clinic appointment,
please check in with the receptionist, giving your name
and the name of the physician your are to see that day.
The receptionist will have you sign in.
4. Wheelchair Assistance
- Where can you find a wheelchair if you need one?
We will have a wheelchair available in the clinic on the
5th floor. If you need a wheelchair at the lobby on the
first floor, please make arrangements for this when you
make your appointment.

2. Billing and Assistance
- Billing and insurance information
If you have an issue with your bill you would like to discuss,
please call our Insurance and Follow-up Department at 817-735-5065
and speak with Opal McIntosh.
- Financial assistance
In some cases, patients without insurance may qualify for
a sliding fee scale that will reduce the amount we bill.
Please ask about this at the front desk when signing in.

information needed from your medical record.
- How do I resolve a question on my billing statement?
If you have an issue with your bill you would like to discuss,
please call our Insurance and Follow-up Department at 817-735-5065
and speak with Opal McIntosh.
- I have a follow up question or concern for my
physician. How can I leave a message for him or her?
Please call 817-735-5450 and our receptionist will direct
your call to either our nursing or business staff who will
give the message to your physician.
- I would like to comment about my experience at

The Department of Surgery is committed to research in the
form of clinical trials. Our department conducts clinical
trials in testing new drugs and new innovative procedures.
Many of our patients have shown tremendous amount of interest
in our clinical trials.
