The University of North Texas (UNT) Student Health and Wellness center is a full service medical center offering general wellness and specialty medical care to all UNT students. The Student Health and Wellness Center is staffed with licensed physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, certified lab technologists, psychiatrists, registered nurses, registered dietitians, radiology technicians, and massage therapists.

This is a professional position whose major responsibility is to provide primary healthcare to university students. This job function is performed under the direction and supervision of the Director of Clinical Services and other designated medical providers within the clinic. Significant independent judgment and initiative is expected, permitted, and limited in the delivery of this level of health care according to the physician/mid-level provider Prescriptive Authority Agreement established at the beginning of employment.

Work is also governed by the regulations and policies of the University of North Texas and the Student Health and Wellness Center.

The successful candidate will possess a Master of Science in Nursing and certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or a Master of Science in Physician Assistant (PA) Studies and certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA); two years current working experience as a FNP or PA; and possession of a current nursing license from the Texas Board of Nursing or a Physician Assistant license from the Texas Medical Board.
