Faculty Position in Biostatistics

 

POSITION – The Department of Biostatistics at the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth invites applications for an open rank faculty position in Biostatistics.

QUALIFICATIONS – Candidates for the position must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in biostatistics/statistics or a related health science discipline. Applicants who will complete their doctoral degree by August, 2008 also will be considered. The successful candidate must have a strong record of or the potential for peer reviewed methodological research, collaboration with researchers, investigators, and practitioners in various fields of medicine and public health, significant independent and collaborative research funding, and outstanding teaching and advising.

RESPONSIBILITIES – Responsibilities include conducting independent and collaborative research, teaching master’s and doctoral courses in biostatistics, advising and mentoring graduate students, and providing service to the community and the field of public health.

COMPENSATION AND RANK – Rank and compensation are commensurate with qualifications and experience. Salary is very competitive.

DEPARTMENT AND UNIVERSITY – The UNT Health Science Center is the fastest-growing health science center in Texas. The department consists of five full-time faculty members who conduct research in biostatistics and related fields, often collaborating with other departments in the School of Public Health, the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, and local, state, and national agencies.
