Associate Professor or Professor in Environmental and
Occupational Health

 

POSITION – The Department of Environmental and Occupational Health at the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth invites applications for a senior faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor.

QUALIFICATIONS – Candidates for the position must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in environmental or occupational health or a related health science discipline and at least five years of academic experience. Applicants with expertise in occupational health and hygiene are particularly encouraged to apply although those with expertise in other areas of environmental health will be considered. The successful candidate must have a strong record of peer reviewed research; the ability to collaborate with researchers, investigators, and practitioners in various fields of medicine and public health; significant evidence of independent and collaborative research funding; and an outstanding record in teaching and advising students.

RESPONSIBILITIES – Responsibilities include conducting independent and collaborative research, teaching master’s courses in the environmental and occupational health, advising and mentoring MPH students, and providing service to the community and the field of public health.

COMPENSATION AND RANK – Rank and compensation are commensurate with qualifications and experience. Salary is very competitive.

DEPARTMENT AND UNIVERSITY – The UNT Health Science Center is the fastest-growing health science center in Texas. The department consists of six full-time faculty members who conduct research in environmental and occupational health and related areas, often collaborating with other departments in the School of Public Health, the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, and local, state, national and international agencies.
