Associate Professor or Professor in Epidemiology

POSITION The Department of Epidemiology at the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth invites applications for a senior faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor.

QUALIFICATIONS Candidates for the position must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in epidemiology and at least five years of academic experience. Applicants with expertise in infectious disease epidemiology are particularly encouraged to apply although those with expertise in other areas of epidemiology will be considered. In all cases, a strong background in epidemiological methodology is desirable. The successful candidate must have a strong record of peer reviewed epidemiological research, the ability to collaborate with researchers and practitioners in various fields of medicine and public health, significant evidence of independent and collaborative research funding, and an outstanding record in teaching and advising students.

RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities include conducting independent and collaborative research, teaching master s and doctoral courses in epidemiology and other areas of public health, advising and mentoring MPH and DrPH students in epidemiology, and providing service to the community and the field of public health.

COMPENSATION AND RANK Rank and compensation are commensurate with qualifications and experience. Salary is very competitive.

DEPARTMENT AND UNIVERSITY The UNT Health Science Center is the fastest-growing health science center in Texas. The department consists of six full-time faculty members who conduct research in epidemiology and related areas, often collaborating with other departments in the School of Public Health, the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, and local, state, national and international agencies.
