May 17, 2013
Hooding & Awards 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.

An outdoor reception immediately follows in front of Will Rogers.
In addition to individual hooding, recipients of graduate awards will be announced and presented.
The RSVP, and the opportunity to name a specific hooder, will be due to Student Affairs and deadlines and additional instructions will be announced soon. The TCOM Dean’s Office will contact all confirmed graduate attendees to provide additional instructions and to get the number of guests you intend to bring.
For this event, all graduates must be in regalia and have their hoods.
FAQs
Will family or friends be allowed to hood me?
Yes, if they are physicians (DO or MD). You will be asked for this information by Student Affairs at a later date. Hooders will be in business attire, only graduates will be in regalia.
Am I required to identify a hooder?
No. You may invite a physician family or friend or any member of the UNTHSC faculty (PhD, DO, or MD), including adjuncts; otherwise, members of the TCOM Academy of Medical Educators will be assigned hooding responsibilities.
Am I required to attend the hooding?
No. However, this is the only time that a formal hooding will occur and you will be introduced by name.
If I attend this ceremony am I still required to attend graduation?
Yes. The formal granting of your degree and the recitation of the Oath will only occur at graduation. Attendance is mandatory and can only be excused by the Provost or President.
Am I limited to the number of guests I bring?
No, but the TCOM Dean's Office will need a confirmation of your attendance and the number in your party.
