Residency Opportunities

One of the distinct advantages of an osteopathic medical education is that it prepares students to enter all three of the nation's residency programs: allopathic, military and osteopathic. Our graduates have been placed in residency and internship positions throughout the United States. The University of North Texas Health Science Center and its affiliate hospitals offer residency programs through the Texas Osteopathic Postdoctoral Training Institutions (Texas OPTI).

In keeping with the osteopathic traditions, many of our graduates enter primary care internships and residencies. Others however, have selected one of the many areas of specialization available at other top academic health centers around Texas and the United States.
