Dr. Gretchen Gibson, D.D.S.

Director of the Special Care Dental Clinics at the Veterans Affairs North Texas Health Care System (VANTHCS) in Dallas, TX

She received her D.D.S. degree from Louisiana State University, New Orleans, LA in 1989 and a Master of Public Health degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center, Ft. Worth, TX in 1997. She completed a one year General Practice Residency at the Audie L. Murphy Memorial Veterans Hospital in San Antonio TX, in 1990, and a two year Geriatric Dental Fellowship at the Denver VA Medical Center.

Dr. Gibson has served as the Director of the Special Care Dental Clinics at the Veterans Affairs North Texas Health Care System (VANTHCS) in Dallas, TX since 1992. She maintains a geriatric dental practice in the Transitional Care Unit at the VANTHCS, and is Coordinator for the National Homeless Veterans Dental Program. Dr. Gibson teaches at Baylor College of Dentistry-TAMUS, and holds the position of Assoc. Clinical Professor in the department of General Dentistry. She lectures and is published in the areas of geriatric dental care, salivary dysfunction and the oral health of the homeless.
