Janice A. Knebl
D.O., C.M.D., F.A.C.P., M.B.A.

Chief of the Division of Geriatrics, director of the Gerontology Assessment and Planning Program, and professor of internal medicine for the UNT Health Science Center's Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine.

She is a Certified Medical Director of a Long-Term Care Facility, and a Diplomat of both the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners and the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Knebl is co-medical director of the James L. West Presbyterian Special Care Center (the only facility of its kind in Texas devoted to Alzheimer's patients) as well as medical director of a number of assisted living facilities. She is a founding executive committee member of the Texas Institute for Research and Education on Aging.

When she joined the TCOM faculty in 1988, Dr. Knebl was the first osteopathic geriatrician in Tarrant County. She earned her D.O. degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her internal medicine residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania. Following a geriatric fellowship at Philadelphia Geriatric Center/Medical College of Pennsylvania, she completed a mini-fellowship at London's St. George's Hospital/Bolingbroke Hospital and a summer research institute sponsored by the National Institute of Aging.
