Volunteers at work:
NBC Health Expo
Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine students, family members and faculty physicians introduced their medical school and the Health Science Center to record crowds attending the 2007 Dallas HealthFit Expo that was held Feb. 10-11 in the Dallas Convention Center. The volunteers report that they always had a long line of people waiting to experience osteopathic manipulative treatment first hand, and that more than 100 people were treated.
This is the third year that the TCOM Student Advocate Association has worked a booth at the annual community event, which is sponsored by NBC 5 and Telemundo 39. Nine students, three UNTHSC physicians and six SAA members participated. The Office of Marketing and Communications provided a display and promotional materials, including “What is a DO?” business cards.
