DO Dash makes annual run

Health Fair, silent auction, pasta party all part of Inaugural Celebration

Don’t miss the 6th Annual DO Dash 5k and 1k Walk/Run and Health Fair on Saturday, Oct. 20. The fun starts at 8 a.m. with the 5K run through the Monticello and Arlington Heights neighborhoods. The 1K starts at 8:45 a.m. The starting line and on-site registration will be on Clifton Street, just north of Camp Bowie.

The Health Fair will run from 8 a.m. to noon in the West Parking Garage, just off Clifton Street. The Health Fair will include wellness checks, disease-prevention education, manipulative and soft tissue treatment, and much more. Two bounce houses provided by the Employee Benefits and Action Committee will help keep the kids entertained.

The DO Dash is sponsored by the TCOM Class of 2010, with proceeds supporting colon cancer screening programs. Registration is $15 for adults, $12 for students and faculty, with a $2 additional charge if you register online. Children under 7 are free, as well as special group rates for 10 or more. Collector’s-edition T-shirts will be given to all registrants. Packet pick-up is Oct. 18-19 at Fort Worth Running Company, 5800 Camp Bowie.

For more information or registration forms, email: dodash@hsc.unt.edu or go to www.fwrunco.com.

Saturday’s events are all part of a weekend full of activities that celebrate the inauguration of UNT Health Science Center President Scott Ransom. The DO Dash and Health Fair are open to the public, as is Friday evening’s “World of Pasta-bilities” Campus Celebration carb-loading pasta dinner at Alumni Plaza. You must RSVP for the dinner.
