For the second year in a row, UNT Health and the Health Science Center are the official medical partners for the Breast Cancer 3-Day event benefiting the Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The event is Oct. 26-28 in Dallas. Volunteers are still needed for the medical crew headed by Dr. Brent Sanderlin, assistant professor of family and community medicine, and Judy Steudeman, RN, nursing services supervisor in Family and Community Medicine. Medical crew members must be a DO, MD, PA, NP, RN, LVN or EMT. Non-medical volunteers are also needed. Cleaning up after the closing ceremony, handing out T-shirts to walkers as they finish, and working with the gear truck to help load and unload equipment and supplies are some of the jobs needing workers. For more details on the medical crew, contact Steudeman at jsteudeman@hsc.unt.edu. You can get more information about the event and non-medical volunteer opportunites at www.the3day.org.
