UNT Health clinics score high with patients

Satisfaction with our UNT Health clinics is climbing, according to a July survey of more than 3,500 patients. The greatest increase in satisfaction related to our patients’ ability to get through to an office by phone. Encounters with clinic receptionists also ranked highly. And, patients consistently said they would recommend their UNT Health doctors and clinics to friends. Congratulations go to the Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine Clinic for having the highest “Overall Visit Satisfaction” score and to the Westside Family Medicine Clinic for improving its “Overall Visit Satisfaction” score the most. The survey, developed by the American Medical Group Association, consists of 15 questions about topics such as access to care, the technical skills and personal demeanor of physicians and staff, and overall visit satisfaction. July survey results were compared to ratings taken in October 2006, as well as to scores of regional and national medical group practices that use the same survey.

The American Medical Group Association sets a benchmark score for the survey’s questions at 63. UNT Health Clinics that met or exceeded the benchmark score for “Overall Visit Satisfaction” on the July survey were:

Randy Jones, president of UNT Health, said that increasing patient satisfaction would continue to be a primary focus in Fiscal Year 2008. “In order to remain competitive in the market and to achieve the success we expect, exceeding the expectations of our patients will be of the utmost concern to us. It will also serve as a key indicator for evaluating our staff and the practice’s performance.” Jones said that the patient satisfaction survey would be conducted every six months.

Jones celebrated the July survey results with all UNT Health clinic staff at a reception on Oct. 5, where several prizes, including a cruise, were awarded to UNT Health employees who had qualified for the prize drawings during the clinics’ QCARE customer service initiative program.
