Thanks for a successful 2007

In November, we presented the Board of Regents our results from the 2006-2007 fiscal year and reported on some of our accomplishments during the past year.  The Board was pleased to see that our results are improving.  Our trends are all positively moving upward, and we are focusing on increasing that rise even more.

In short, the Board saw proof that:

• Enrollment increased to 1,200 in August.
• Employee giving increased substantially as more than 700 faculty and staff members contributed more than $150,000 to the Health Science Center and other deserving organizations.
• Alumni giving in terms of dollars and number of donors increased significantly.
• Student life survey results set the path for improvements, including expanded study space, increased scholarships, improved career counseling and placement and a new activities center.
• New faculty and staff evaluations led us to improvements in our bonus systems, employee recognition, and staff and leadership development.

The past year marks the point when we began to realize our world of possibilities, and our accomplishments are the direct result of the students, faculty and staff all working together.  The Board gave me the mission of transforming the UNT Health Science Center into a world-class, Top 10 medical and research facility.  Together, we are well on our way to achieving that goal.  The next dimension of our world of possibilities awaits us this year.
