DNA lab appears on CNN.com
The DNA lab continues to make the news across the nation, most notably on CNN.com in a Jan. 10 story about a case in Fort Meyers, Fla. The lab’s work in the case has helped to identify two of the eight sets of remains.

OMCT remembered
A retrospective of the Osteopathic Medical Center (OMCT) of Texas, written by Dr. Jay Beckwith, was in the Jan. 6 Star-Telegram. Dr. Beckwith is a former OMCT staff member and was on the board of directors when the hospital closed. The Star-Telegram also included a story in its Jan. 14 edition about the demolition of the OMCT and the plans for Building A, which will be built on the site. KXAS-NBC5, and WFAA-ABC 8, both aired stories about the demolition of the hospital.

Researching hot flashes
An NBC television station in Utah aired a story on Jan. 9 about the hot flash study being conducted here, and Kim Brown was interviewed for the piece. The segment has been replayed on 40 NBC stations across the country.

Momma mia
On Dec. 27, a Star-Telegram  story about the Aintie-Tia project mentioned us as contributors to the program. The program uses a mentoring concept to encourage healthy childbirth and child care in underserved communities.

Clinical research and job prospects
Dr. Patricia Gwirtz was quoted in a Jan. 13 Dallas Morning News story about clinical research and the success of our students in internships and careers.
