HSC employees gear up for Relay for Life 2008 Each year millions of volunteers across the country participate in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. Health Science Center students and employees are joining the effort again this year. The event raises funds to fight cancer and raise awareness of cancer prevention and treatment. During the Fort Worth relay, teams camp out at Farrington Field and take turns walking or running around the track for up to 24 hours Eight HSC teams already have signed up for the Fort Worth relay in April, and many more are expected to join. Fundraising is underway. This is the fourth year that HSC teams have participated in Relay for Life. Last year, two HSC teams raised a total of $5,000 for the cause. You can learn more about Relay for Life and volunteer opportunities at the kick-off breakfast this weekend.
