Tuition increase funds student development programs

The Health Science Center proposed a tuition increase of 8.9 percent at the UNT Board of Regents meeting on Feb. 7 at the Dallas Campus.  UNTHSC tuition hasn’t increased since 2005.  Total in-state tuition for TCOM is the lowest in the state for medical school.  Credit hour charges for the Schools of Public Health and Biomedical Sciences are about average for comparable programs in Texas.  The Physician Assistant program has the lowest charge per credit hour of any institution offering the program in Texas.

Tuition increases will be used for these student development programs:

  1. Expanded library hours
  2. Expanded career services
  3. High quality and contemporary fitness and student center
  4. Expanded admissions staff to support increased class size
  5. Seed money for student scholarships for research assistantships and teaching assistantships
  6. Clinical satellite campus infrastructure
  7. Expanded adjunct and regular faculty UNTHSC logo
