Policy Reminder: Drug-Free Workplace
The Health Science Center’s drug-free workplace policy ensures that we work in a safe and healthy environment. The policy, which applies to all HSC employees and students, prohibits the unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensing, possession or use of controlled substances and the abuse of alcohol in the workplace.
Assistance with drug- and alcohol-related problems is available to Health Science Center employees and students. Employees can get help through our group insurance. Students can contact the Student Assistance Program by calling 817-339-8936.

Professional development opportunities
9 am - noon
Great for new employees or for those wanting to take their customer service skills to the next level. The session includes defining service, customer service communication, fixing problems and conflict resolution, building a customer service team, needs vs. wants, and attitudes and beliefs.
Understanding and Responding to Organizational Change
1 – 3 pm
This session teaches how to see, create, and assess options and strategies for change and shows seven ways to decrease anxiety and get motivated. Examples of people and organizations improving performance by finding opportunities in change will be presented.
Train the Trainer
10 – 11:30 am
This session enhances your current training style, gives you ideas and suggestions to meet the needs of your audience and allows trainers on campus to meet and share ideas. Learn to write and manage checklists, handbooks, lesson plans, objectives and more.
Communication Series – Part I (4-Part Series)
1 – 3 pm
Learn theories of human communication and their function in contemporary public settings. and the session enhances research, organization, reasoning, listening, and problem solving skills.
