The Faculty/Staff Survey of Organizational Excellence results are in!

In January, more than 550 faculty and staff members shared their opinions through the Health Science Center’s Survey of Organizational Excellence, which solicited feedback on work environment, pay, benefits, employee development, teamwork, organizational characteristics, communication and job satisfaction.

The survey results identified physical environment, strategic orientation and quality as our areas of strength. Areas for improvement include fair pay, internal communication and team effectiveness. The Executive Team has reviewed the survey results and will focus on three areas for improvement: fair pay, internal communication and team effectiveness.  Rand Horsman, associate vice president for Human Resource Services, will lead a task force to discuss compensation at UNTHSC. Efforts to improve internal communication include the Leadership Development Institute, increased supervisory training, Internet Web site redesign, and Marketing and Communications’ internal communication survey. We also will continue our efforts to improve team effectiveness through the Leadership Development Institute, regular executive and leadership team meetings, and faculty and staff development activities.
