… was honored by the Southwest Region of the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR) at its 2008 conference in Scottsdale, Ariz., in April. He was awarded its 2008 Southwest Academy Award for his contributions to higher education and the human resource profession.
Dr. Scott Ransom, UNTHSC president
… was conferred as a distinguished fellow of the American College of Physician Executives (ACPE) at its Spring Institute and Annual Meeting in New York City in April. The honor of distinguished fellow – the highest given by the ACPE – is awarded to physician executives who make “exemplary and enduring contributions to the knowledge and advancement of medical management.” Dr. Ransom was named Fellow of the ACPE in 1991 and served on the group’s board of directors from 1999 to 2004, including a term as president from 2003 to 2004.
Dr. Elizabeth Palmarozzi, chair of family and community medicine
… is now a fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP). She received the honor during the ACOFP Annual Conclave of Fellows Award Ceremony in Denver, Colo., in March. The honor is given to candidates who have contributed outstanding service through teaching, authorship, research or professional leadership.
