Free electronics recycling at UNTHSC Earth Day Celebration

As a public service, the UNT Health Science Center invites you to recycle electronics safely and securely, for free, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 23 on the UNT Health Science Center Campus.

You'll get rid of those space-wasting old computers, TVs, VCRs, phones, cords and such. As an added bonus, you could win a Kindle eReader.

You can drive right up to the recycling event. Helpers will unload your items. The location is 1000 Montgomery St., the loading dock of the Medical Education and Training Building. A random drawing will award one lucky donor a Kindle. Get details of the Electronics Recycling event by clicking here.

Many electronics contain hazardous chemicals harmful to people and the environment. Proper recycling ensures these are handled according to approved guidelines. In addition, many electronics contain private data. Proper recycling ensures this is destroyed. To learn more, check out information from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency or Earth911.com.

The electronics recycling event is sponsored by the UNTHSC Office of Sustainability, which supports the university's mission of improving the health and quality of life for Texans and beyond-starting right here on our campus and in our community.

For more than a decade, UNTHSC has been minimizing its environmental impact and saving by reducing energy usage, conserving water and recycling.
