EVIDENCE-BASED UPDATE SEMINAR SPONSORED BY UNT HEALTH SCIENCE CENTER CONTINUING EDUCATION OFFICE
The Office of Professional and Continuing Education at the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth and the Dallas Metroplex Tamil Sangam are sponsoring this year’s Evidence-Based Medicine Update July 2.
Designed for community-based primary care, internal medicine, family physicians and allied health professionals, the update will provide a review of important topics in primary care through eight divided modules of lectures. Each module will consist of lectures on topics of clinical and practical importance and case discussions with opportunities for discussion with faculty. Upon completion of this activity, attendees will have received information that should allow them to:
· Identify at least three ways clinicians’ roles and responsibilities may change in a primary care setting.
· Interpret recent research related to the diagnosis, treatment and management of eight diseases and disorders.
· Use an evidence-based approach to recognize the pathophysiology, changing practice models and cost effectiveness of current diagnosis and treatment for at least five conditions encountered in a primary care office setting.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to earn six Category 1 credits toward the American Medical Association Physician’s Recognition Award. The health science center anticipates this program being approved for six hours of AOA Category 2A CME credit hours. Each physician should only claim those credits that were actually spent in the activity.
The conference will last from 7:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. and will be located at the Renaissance Dallas Richardson Hotel, located at 900 E. Lookout Dr. in Richardson. For more information or to register, contact PACE at 1-800-987-2CME.
