Ella Nkhoma, MPH, received the Kenneth H. Cooper Award for Outstanding Research from the University of North Texas Health Science Center.

The award is given to the School of Public Health student who demonstrates excellence and quality in the application of research methods. The award includes a plaque to be displayed on campus and a $250 monetary award.

Nkhoma was not able to accept the award at the the School of Public Health’s annual awards banquet on May 6, because she was working on her doctorate in epidemiology at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill as a University Fellow; however, her father, Christopher Nkhoma, accepted the award for her.
