HEFFERNAN JOINS UNT HEALTH SCIENCE CENTER
Jennifer Heffernan, MD, has joined UNT Health Science Center as an assistant professor in the Department of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Heffernan is a member of several professional medical organizations, including the American and Texas geriatric societies, the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Family Physicians. She previously served as a clinical fellow of geriatrics at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation where she received the World Class Service Award for her compassionate care of the elderly.
Dr. Heffernan earned a bachelor of arts degree in physics from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Fla. and a medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, Fla.
A native of Jacksonville, Fla., she currently resides in Dallas with her husband, Thomas Heffernan, who is a gynecologic oncology fellow at UT Southwestern at Parkland.
