Nejtek Joins UNT Health Science Center's Department of Psychology
Vicki A. Nejtek, PhD, recently joined UNT Health Science Center as assistant professor in the Department of Psychology.
Dr. Nejtek will also serve as director of clinical research for the department and graduate advisor for the health psychology doctoral program offered by the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. She was formerly an assistant professor of psychiatry at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas where she was the director of the bipolar and co-occurring disorders research program. Her research interests include investigating treatment interventions for bipolar disorder and examining the impact chronic cocaine and methamphetamine use has on brain structure and function.
She earned a bachelor of arts degree in psychology, graduating summa cum laude, a master of science degree, a doctorate in cognition and behavioral neuroscience, all from the University of Texas at Dallas. She also completed postdoctoral training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
A native of Fort Worth, Dr. Nejtek currently resides in the Fort Worth area.
