Shu Joins Health Science Center as Research Assistant Professor
Hongjun Shu, PhD, recently joined UNT Health Science Center as a research assistant professor in the Department of Molecular Biology and Immunology and associate director of the advanced mass spectrometry laboratory.
Dr. Shu was formerly an assistant professor of pharmacology and lead scientist in the Protein Chemistry Laboratory of the Alliance for Cellular Signaling at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. His research interests include biological mass spectrometry, functional proteomics and the molecular and cellular mechanisms of human diseases.
He earned a master of science degree in analytical chemistry from Beijing Agricultural University and a doctorate in analytical chemistry and biochemistry from the Institute of Chemistry at the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
A native of China, Dr. Shu currently resides in Plano.
