Medical students host 6th annual D.O. Dash and Health Fair

Runners will take to the streets of the historic Monticello/Arlington Heights neighborhood on the west side of Fort Worth at the 6th Annual D.O. Dash on Saturday, Oct. 20. Proceeds from this year’s Dash will benefit colon cancer screening and awareness.

The 5K run/walk, 1K race for children and accompanying health fair are organized annually by the second-year class of the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. Participants may register online for the D.O. Dash. Each registrant receives a free collector’s edition T-shirt.

Health Fair includes:

•     Body fat testing
•     Blood pressure checks
•     Vision screenings
•     Manipulative and soft tissue treatment
•     Preventative and nutrition information
•     A kids’ area including two bounce houses

Date:  Saturday, Oct. 20
Time:  8 a.m. to noon
Location:  UNT Health Science Center campus, corner of Camp Bowie Boulevard and Montgomery Street
Cost:  Race: $15 for adults; $12 for UNTHSC students and faculty; Children under 7 are free; $2 handling fee if you register online.
Health Fair: Free to all
