Results are in for the 2010 Osteopathic Match. Approximately 78 percent of osteopathic students and graduates who participated in the Osteopathic Match successfully matched into osteopathic residency or internship positions.
The National Matching Services, Inc., which coordinates the Osteopathic Match, reports that a total of 1,896 individuals participated in the 2010 Match; 1,473 successfully matched and 423 did not match. There will be an additional 218 osteopathic graduates who will serve in the military. Of the 3,845 osteopathic students graduating this spring, 1,992 did not participate in this year's Match. The American Osteopathic Association intern/resident registration program offered 2,443 funded positions, 970 of which are unfilled.
Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine at the UNT Health Science Center had 25 participants in this year's Osteopathic Match. Of these participants, 22 were matched, including three who will serve in the military.
