Immunological and Microbiological Services

UNTHSC Pre-Clinical Services currently offers the following procedures. Additional procedures can be developed and validated to meet the individual requirements of the sponsor.


Flow Cytometry, Laser Capture Microdissection, & Fluorescence Microscopy

Various services include those for cell analysis, cell sorting, tissue LC microdissection, and fluorescence imaging.  For detailed instrument capabilities, see http://www.hsc.unt.edu/FCF/index.htm.

Antibody Response

Serum samples from various rodent disease models are measured for total immunoglobulin and isotype profiles. 

Cytokine Response

Serum samples are quantitatively profiled for cytokine production within a number of rodent disease models. 

Biofilm Assays

In vitro methods quantitatively determine phenotypic variation and drug efficacy for gram-positive and gram-negative biofilms.  

Cosmetic Microbiology

Cosmetic samples are screened for microbial contamination through FDA approved guidelines.

Molecular Microbiology

Techniques include PCR, cloning, transformation, and transposon mutagenesis.  Advanced techniques are available upon request.
