Training

Potential users are to request training directly from the Director of the Center for BioHealth Microscope Facility. Training sessions will be scheduled as they are needed. The sessions will be held in the CBH building 5th floor conference room or in the CBH 507. The number or people per training session will be kept small. These sessions will consist of 4-5 hours of instruction both in the classroom and on the microscope. Microscope guidelines will be available and sent to potential users prior to training. Before becoming an unsupervised user, each user must show proficient knowledge of the components and software they are to use.

The training will consist of several parts:

  1. General training on the use and safety of the system
  2. Start up/shut down procedures
  3. Loading software
  4. Application specific instruction
  5. Application specific analysis
  6. Saving files

If you have already had some training on a similar system, you must still demonstrate your knowledge of the system. Special consideration will be given to those users. Users must still undergo general safety and usage guidelines for our facility before approval is given.
