Kris
Chesky, Ph.D., is Research Assistant Professor with a joint
appointment in the UNTHSC Department of Medicine and the College
of Music at the UNT College of Music. Dr. Chesky has held academic
appointments in both music and medicine. He recieved a B.M.
in trumpet performance from Berklee College of music, and Masters
and Doctorate Degrees in Music Educiation from the University
of North Texas. Chesky has over twenty five years of experience
as a professional musician. He serves on the editorial board
of Medical Problems of Performing Artists Journal. Dr. Chesky
has directed many scientific studies, published numerous articles
and book chapters, and has lectured around the world. He has
also developed conceptual models and technologies for medical
and scientific applications of music vibration for pain relief.
He holds a U.S. patent for the development of music vibration
technology. Dr. Chesky has recieved multiple research grants
from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.
