Bernard
Rubin, D.O., F.A.C.P., is professor of medicine in the Department
of Internal Medicine, University of North Texas Health Science
Center at Fort Worth. He received his B.S. from the University
of Illinois in 1972, and D.O. from the Chicago College of Osteopathic
Medicine in 1976. His postgraduate training has included fellowships
in Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology at the Albert Einstein
Medical Center in Philadelphia, the Thomas Jefferson University
School of Medicine, and Hahnemann University School of Medicine.
Dr. Rubin was an editorial board member for Primary Care
Rheumatology between 1991 and 1993 and is currently on the
medical advisory board for Arthritis Today. Some of his
awards include the Outstanding Achievement Award from the Chicago
College of Osteopathic Medicine Alumni Association (1997) and
the best Doctors in America, Central Region Award (1996-1997).
Dr. Rubin has studied the clarinet and participated in research
with Dr. Chesky in utilizing music as therapy for various rheumatic
diseases including rheumatic arthritis and fibromyalgia. He
has had an interest in the medical problems of performing artists
for a number or years and is actively involved in this area
of research. In addition to numerous publications and abstracts,
Dr. Rubin has authored or co-authored four books.
