Tom Capetan, M.B.A.
Former Vice President of Licensing and Business Development at Alcon Laboratories
Mr. Capetan joined Alcon Laboratories in 1989 and over the next twenty years, directed the identification, evaluation, and acquisition of new ophthalmic pharmaceutical and surgical business opportunities. He also provided global strategic direction and negotiated agreements for acquisitions, licenses, and strategic alliances. During his tenure at Alcon, he participated in the acquisition and integration of 10 companies and licensed over 50 new surgical and pharmaceutical products/technologies. He was also responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with key corporations, industry leaders, physicians, and inventors – an effort that resulted in a consistent flow of over 1000 new product licensing/acquisition opportunities per year. Headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, Alcon is the worldwide leader in pharmaceuticals for the eye.

Robin Kral, M.S., M.B.A.
Vice President of Licensing and Intellectual Property at Reata Pharmaceuticals
Mr. Kral joined Reata from the UT Southwestern Medical Center, where he was Associate Director for Venture Development. At UT Southwestern, he played a leading role in assembling Reata’s project portfolio and developing its business plan. Before joining UT Southwestern, Mr. Kral was in positions of increasing responsibility in research, market and competitive analysis, product development and business development at NPS Pharmaceuticals in Salt Lake City. Founded in 2002 and located in Irving, Texas, Reata is a biopharmaceutical company focused on translating innovative science into breakthrough medicines for intractable diseases. Reata has partnered to in-license and collaboratively develop technologies from institutions that include the M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, UT Southwestern, Dartmouth, and The National Cancer Institute.

Lawton Seal, Ph.D., S.M.

Senior Scientific Advisor, Research and Development at Healthpoint, Ltd.
In addition to his duties as lead scientist for the DFB Antimicrobial Program, Dr. Seal is involved in the assessment of new technologies and products for acquisition by the Strategic Business Development elements of Healthpoint. Dr. Seal has over 20 years of practical experience in infectious disease research using a variety of in vitro and in vivo pre-clinical models as well as designing and overseeing the conduct of clinical studies to meet various research objectives. Dr. Seal joined Healthpoint, a DFB Pharmaceuticals company, in 1999 after serving as chief for Infectious Disease Laboratories, Department of Pathology, and Walter Reed Army Medical Center. A specialty pharmaceutical company in Fort Worth, Texas, Healthpoint is uniquely committed to the prevention and treatment of diseased and traumatized skin and related soft tissue.
