The Office for the Protection of Human Subjects (OPHS) is located on the first floor of Center for Biohealth (CBH) Suite 160. Our mail-in address is 3500 Camp Bowie Blvd Fort Worth, TX 76107. OPHS staff is always willing to provide assistance to investigators regarding current or prospective research protocols. Please schedule an appointment to ensure staff availability.
All documents and correspondence for OPHS or the IRB can be dropped off during business hours (8am-5pm) at the front desk of OPHS with Ms. Mary Wilson.
The UNTHSC-IRB is a committee of highly-qualified individuals with various backgrounds and areas of expertise to promote complete and adequate review of human subject research activities including those which involve vulnerable subjects. In addition, the board has the expertise and capacity, as required by federal regulations, to review prisoner research. See IRB Members link for a list of current members.
OPHS is organized within the Office of Research Administration. As such, we collaborate with the Office of Clinical Trials and the Office of Grant and Contract Management in coordinating human subject research at UNTHSC.
